As Lifehacker pointed out, KeePass would have helped you keep relatively safe in case of websites getting their user info stolen. Composite key was always the Master Password. I am currently using Dashlane and I have been suggested to switch to KeePass. I am looking for a way to have KeePass (or another of its similar free projects) on Android, with autofilling activated, on Windows and also a browser extension that would autofill passwords and forms. All of that synced through OneDrive (that's the cloud service I use). Keepass databases are stored in files. Depending on how your database is protected (password, key file or both), you could need your key file as well, but you can always open that file on several machines.
